Oct. 3, 2007 - Finally, both the tv and internet dishes are up.
The tv dish setup on Sept. 29 was quite a story. The tech was delayed twice and Gary wasn't notified. Had to call the company to know what was going on. A tech finally showed up around 7:30 pm and finished the installation around midnight. The cable already in place had to be replaced which is why it took so long. As the tech was about to close the order, he asked Gary if he wanted the insurance. Heck, for $6/month, Gary said yes. Well, good for him! No later than after the guy closed the order, the receiver went south! It was immediatly replaced and Gary saved an additional $175 expense :)
Now, you might notice that the metal post has been moved. Well, that post was actually moved twice. Once the tv dish was installed, the post was too close to it. So Gary moved it, only to discover shortly after that a tree would be in the line of the signal. So after calling the internet company to check the satellite's azimuth and elevation, he relocated the post once more to its current location. What an adventure!
